Just finished teaching this class called animal anatomy and creature design. This first batch of work are from our zoo trips, based off of animal construction lectures. You ALL KICKED ASS!

We will then submit them to Phil Hester for selection. Students whose work is selected and approved will be contacted so that the full resolution files can be collected for publication.

Intro Pages

The SEQA 100 Intro class this spring has been learning the basics behind staging, pacing, panel structure, gutter size, camera angles, crops, spotting blacks, line weights, etc. as it applies to storytelling in comics. There is room for improvement in these pages but considering the material is all new and some students had never drawn a page before, the results are really promising. Nice work, guys!

HEROES Free Comic Book Day Report

Our illustrious professor Shawn Crystal and graduate student powerhouse Chris Schweizer went to the HEROES Free Comic Book Day Event May 2nd and had a blast! HEROES have posted up their own short report and tons of photos of the event. Check them out! Shawn has also posted some of his work from the event on his blog here. Below are just a few photos of the two of them enjoying one of the most fun events all year long in the comic book industry. Can't wait for next year!
